About

Independently produced visual identity, design system and software that positions the brand as a cultural platform documenting and participating in emerging subcultures through documentaries, journalism, products, and technology.

NFC MEMBER SYSTEMNFC MEMBER

Designed NFC ownership so tapping the product with a phone opens the collector's closet with receipt and historical timeline that lives on the product to turn recycled waste into a closet novelty.

Backed by a custom Shopify admin metafield system so ownership lives on the product record and profiles stay in sync with the physical piece, with appropriate data freshness, rate limiting, and caching.

CAMPAIGNCAMPAIGN

Produced campaign stills, product photography, and catalog assets for PRIVATE SOCIAL NETWORK.

Wrote and shot for the brand journal, including ELECTRONIC STREETWEAR and the 1000 MEMBER MILESTONE bike culture piece.

Directed campaign shoots at culturally relevant locations.

WEB DEVELOPMENTWEB

Designed storefront UX on the PRIVATE SOCIAL NETWORK store with clear hierarchy for the user's mental model, with a scroll-triggered WebGL rack system extending the brand's visual identity.

Built member authentication and a custom admin dashboard for profile management on the Shopify storefront using Shopify metafields.

About

Led frontend engineering on PHONT, a SaaS platform for expressive subtitles. Studies reported the system at +43% immersion, 89% emotion accuracy, +21% emotional clarity, and #1 adoption intent.

ENGINEERINGENGINEERING

Shipped Next.js interfaces with a server-first architecture, isolating the caption renderer as the only client component to minimize hydration and main-thread bottlenecks.

Equipped system with hls.js support for livestream integration.

Owned B2B go-to-market surfaces for the SaaS, the company site, documentation, and partner launch guides so teams wire expressive captions into Bitmovin, Shaka, Video.js, and HTML5 without a custom stack.

Packaged and published the subtitle SDK for npm as @phont-ai/subtitles / @phont-ai/subtitles-core. Versioned releases and adapters for partner integrations.

Helped shape API design for subtitle animation data, with WebVTT metadata tags, simplifying developer integration for partner streaming stacks.

CAPTION SYSTEMCAPTION

Built a player-agnostic caption renderer that offloads animation to the GPU compositor, integrated via standardized API endpoints and web formats (WebVTT, TTML), with Lottie, GSAP, WebGL, and alpha export.

Created an internal animator tool using custom transforms on type axes, with 30+ effects so designers can reflect tone and speaker emotion through animation curves, with version history and a private sharing feature for design collaboration.

Collaborated with client teams for integration support and sdk feedback.

ACCESSIBILITYACCESSIBILITY

Shipped a React engine driven by emotional analysis.

We evaluated caption performance across two studies: a controlled online study with 346 hearing participants, and a screening with 65+ Deaf and hard of hearing participants from the Berlin Deaf Community.

Results: 86.7% kept captions on with zero comprehension penalty, and 81.9% said they wanted this on streaming. Full write-up on stage.phont.ai/research.

The team runs regular international sign sessions to learn ASL and implement feedback.

EVENTSEVENTS

Led hiring and frontend engineering. Presented at IBC, HPA, SWXS, and Academy sessions.

Attended an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences executive meeting with RIT researchers, lawyers, and top streaming platforms to contribute expressive caption input.

Represented the Adobe Premiere plugin at HPA Networking events, putting PHONT Studio in front of post-production and finishing teams.

Generated broadcast client leads at IBC, conversations that moved expressive captions from demo into pipeline discussions with networks and vendors.

Attended SXSW for market research and networking, reading where streaming, accessibility, and creator tools were heading, and building the relationships around that.

Attended a top 1% Cursor event to share PHONT.

About

At SUNDAY Digital Creative Studio I built design systems and web-driven campaigns for e-commerce clients that helped grow the studio to 100K followers.

CAMPAIGN STILLSCAMPAIGN

Campaign stills and lookbook frames cut for store, social, and product surfaces, matching the visual language of the Camp Collection launch hero for BLOODY SUNDAY.

Extended launches into branded activations with in-store displays, pop-ups, and giveaway events, all under one brand language.

Supported online presence and content creation across social and store with drop photography and feed-ready assets that kept BLOODY SUNDAY readable as one brand.

DESIGN SYSTEMSDESIGN

Decided global versus contextual styling so the parent company stays distinguishable from sibling brands across Sport, Bloody Sunday, and client lines including Crumble and Friday Beers.

WEB DEVELOPMENTWEB

Built and maintained the studio Shopify site with custom brand components tied to monthly drop themes, using advanced rendering libraries such as WebGPU and Three.js to elevate visual identity on theme launches, with thousands of concurrent users.

Created the Sunday Yearbook so every purchase order is a core object in a living brand archive. Buyers get a private upload path, photos are cut out and composited onto yearbook pages via APIs, then published to a CMS. The book stays current as orders come in rather than running live, and the Honor Roll puts the highest volume customers first.
